There's something unique about our location on the Western Slope of Colorado. It's quickly establishing itself as the "Napa Valley" of bushy hemp given our special microclimate. A high desert terroir and 300 days of sunshine every year make for fantastic growth. It is dry, yet we have access to an abundance of snowmelt water and use a state-of-the-art underground fertigation system. This allows us to control the flow of water and nutrients to our plants with unmatched precision- all the while avoiding the excessive mold-causing humidity in other parts of the country. These key factors, in tandem with the hot summer days and cool nights, present the ideal conditions to produce large quantities of a world-class boutique product on our CBD farm.
Typhoon Farma painstakingly sources only the best genetics possible to produce not only excellent cannabinoid content, but superior terpene profiles and oil production for our CBD farm.
Even though we are seasoned hemp growers, we learn almost daily about the seemingly endless capabilities of this plant. As most know by now, cannabinoids are not all that there is to hemp. Terpenes also play a huge role in the "entourage effect" and we source our genetics with this in mind as we see the industry evolve in that direction.
The outstanding genetics combined with our optimal terroir and nutrient supply system make for an unmatched profile.

Perhaps our favorite part of the season is when the seeds go in the pods. Our seeds are started in our greenhouse partner's organic aquaponic system, one unlike any other. This system produces thoroughbred racehorse quality results that bust out of the gate almost 20% faster than in traditional germination systems in CBD farming.

On our CBD farm, we grow organically which means no pesticides and no herbicides and the cultivation is done mostly by hand. The unsung hero of our farm is our Netafim fertigation system which was first developed for farms in the arid areas of Israel. Not only is this system water efficient, but we are able to dial in the organic nutrients and supply directly to the roots of the plants without adding excessive moisture to the leaves, thus decreasing the risk of mold exponentially. Most hemp operations use either an overhead pivot irrigation system, or gated pipe furrow-flow system, both of which make it challenging to supply nutrients and present a larger mold risk as the plants get bigger and airflow decreases. Because they are expensive and labor intensive, systems like Netafim are typically reserved for smaller grows. We want to produce the best at scale, so we opted to supply our whole grow this way.
Through the use of in house equipment and our partners, we have the capability of pre-procssing biomass to meet a processors needs. Either fine milled (pictured), hand shucked, or whole flower, our CBD farm can accommodate any preferred biomass consistency for oil extraction.
After harvest, we are left with actual mountains of fiber which can not only be used for CBD extraction itself, but have endless uses from construction building materials to clothing to animal bedding. Additionally, hemp seed grain resulting from CBD farming is a much sought after commodity for everything from soaps to animal feed.
